Irritated/ Blabble

I know I am well overdue for a post I am running out of ideas on what to post. I have been working on my paper so that has been something that I guess could talk about. I have made the argument that letergical dance and sign language have little to do with PACS besides the fact that they are just Art and Craft related. After class on Monday Evening the 26th I was in fact freaking out a bit I don't know if it had to do with what class discussion was about which made me want to run. Or I was just having one of those moments where everything was getting on my nerves I get like that sometimes but I just happen to notice it more I dont know if it was because I was thinking of all the stuff I should have done and I did not do over break or the stuff i did do instead of doing other things. Well in any event today is more so the same my paper has not gone any further it seems like it is at a standstill and it is due in three weeks?? I don't know. I have started to think alot about what am I going to do after PCAD? One thing I think would be good is a change in pace. Also I have been contemplating on talking with someone on some of the ideas that I have been reflecting upon. I guess I have been sort of doing a "soul search" me verses the inner and outer world. In other words possibly going to the sterotypical room of a pshycologist. I think it is overdue and some of my ideas need to be straightened up. I know getting back into a proper church schedule would probably be good and a social life cause I have been only doing school come home school sleep since middle school. Well sorry for the babble I should have a better post in the next few days about my paper and things that I have been reading upon. Honestly right now nothing is really sparking my light bulb so to speak.

November the 12

In class the other day specifically the one listed above. We were talking about that craft is not exprimental. Japanese raku was brought up in the arguement. I do not believe that a process that is random has precion. If it was precise the where abouts a crack my land could be reproduced. But since it was random or it is it can only happen once in that particular sequence.I also disagree with he idea that if it is not exact that it is poorly done. If something is meant to have a crack in it then that is poorly done because it is not exact and has not lines or shapes in it???
The piece is unique because each piece is different in the placement of where the cracks may land. The question that came to mind was does that mean when I am creating my drip paintings they are poorly done because the drips are not calculated where each mark may fall or look like?
Another Idea brought up in class was the idea of magic. The example given was the idea of being at a Rush concert and how people reacted to the lights being shone on them. After that the thought that popped into my mind was when I go on my trips to Emmitsburg to the Grotto for a weekend of worship known as Mount 2000. Mount2000.com It is a three day weekend where we just gather together and listen to lectures and have mass everyday. The one particular thought that stood out in my mind was the one evening when the priests and eucharistic ministers bring the eucharist around while we all automatically bow our heads as a sing of respect and reflection. Also the songs for worship advert came to mind where the whole crowd has their hands up in the air while singing shine Jesus shine accapella is this considered magic?

I know I am supposed to separate my blogs but I have little time I am on my way out the door. After class on Wednesday I was looking over the task for the paper and partially what was asked of us in class on Wednesday. After clearing some of my frustrations and worries b going on a long slow walk after class and reading the prompt and looking at the dialectic essay format. I think what I am unsure about is what I am defending or what am I supposed to have been looking at in the class? What am I defending? if anything? What happens if we feel that our conclusions are not concrete or complete? Can we write about that reason? What is meant by straw person? is that the idea of drawing the short straw so to speak. Do the dialectic papers i find find on how to set up need to be cited? If i am using things as a web or template?

Monday's class discussion Deepak

In Monday's class when we were discussing Mandukya Uanisad's Vision of the self. i asked myself the question aren't their seven stages not four stages? i ask this because of Deepak Chopra MD. Also is Mandukya teaching balance of the self or chakras just like Deepak or is he going on something completely different? Because looking at the diagram in class compared to what deepak is teaching they seem to both be dealing with the self and a way of cleansing the self. They both have a working state, then a dream state and a state where there seems to be both conciousness and unconciousness. is deepacks way a more extended version? In deepaks diagram it shows an eight armed woman with a crown of leaves sitting on a lotus. Starting at the head is the Om which = union, unbounded awareness. Sham= Intuition, insight, realization. Moving to the neck Ham= creative, expression, knowledge and abundance. Moving to the chest Yam= love, faith, duty, devotion. Just below the breasts Ram= immortality, aurthority, fame, will at the abdomen sexuality and family and lastly Lam at the feet which means security, trust, basic survival. Each mentioned are called chakras. Each chakra is associated with our core dimention of human life.
1. basic survival needs
2. creativity
3. abilitiy to manifest our desires and intention
4.love and compassion
5. expression
6 intuition
7.union btwn individuality and universialtiy
Dont these all relate to the self? or are they the self?

In further reading constriction of any of these chakras limits the flow of energy. It is believed that each chakra has a bija or seed mantra that can clear the "energy center of the chakra." Each chakra is related to a color as well.

1. muladhara- red root or foundation associated with the sense of smell, as well as spine, adrenal glands, kidneys, lower digestive tract, clarity in good health
2. suadhisthana- orange selfs dwelling place both masculine and femanine when open feel intimately connected with creative power of the universe.
3. manipura- yellow shinging gem ablility to digest life, governs liver, gall bladder, stomach, spleen and sense of sight abliltiy to let go of frustration feelings of hostility and agression
4. Anahata green the place of openness, governs sense of touch when chakra is open should feel flowing freely peace love harmony and laughter governs lungs and heart helps let go of fear and jealousy.
5. Vishuddha Pale Blue means pure, throat feel comfortable with speaking your truth govens sense of hearing thyroid metabolism immune system
6. Aijna Indigo Infinite power, governs brain stem and cerebellum, gain access to dreams.
7. Sahaswar Gold means thousand petal lotus flower when chakra is open should feel balance and clarity and purpose and aware of the inifnite silence.
what deepak is getting at I think is also what cleansing of the self but in a more elaborate way than Mandukya.

First Friday Creep

So I am still ab bit creeped out from first friday I me a guy who claimed that he could speak to people telepathically. I also was creeped out because he took a picture with his camera phone. I gave him the Jen's not happy glance which was more pontent thatn nomral. Which rarely comes out unless you have really ticked me off or your making me feel uneasy. The guy was telling me a bit of both or making me feel a bit of both. I just thought he was just odd. He kept laugh out of no where.

Same night, I met a professor from millersville in the bio department who talked about how scienc and art were unified as one at onepint until recently. Depending on the definiton of art and science that one follows. What i got out of that converstaion was that nature itself has molecular aspects in our systems. That we both share the same sense of design molecularly at somepoint. wh have the same sense of that asl that we are grounded or looking to be grounded into nature itself. We are looking to find "roots" to nature itself. At leats that was what I got out of the converstations on first friday.

may seem strange

This may seem strange and you may think that I am on something until i explain myself. So a commment in a resent conversation was about midgets with one of my family members came up. One of the pick up lines that came up was "I see things from a different perspective so I an kiss those thighs like no other person you know has." a question after that came up was Why do midgets always go for taller women? Okey you are probably wondering have you flipped a switch? No. I was watching a CSI program last thursday with my family and on of the agents got hit on by the midget in the program by the use of the pick up line above. After that my mother pipes up and says why do midgets go for tall women? i was trying to relate that entry to how Freud would look at it or Jung would look at the Ida. One conclusion I came to waas that he was an overzelous sleezy little man. His edipus complex was getting the better of him. Maybe her tallnes is the idea of the obelisk falic symbol that he does not have or cannot persue because of his height or size. So he is deprived therefore he is going after the women who are taller with his sly commments.

Another note toay in Art History class i was intently listening in on the lecture when one of Pawels comments triggered something from class. The comment he made was how in hister art and craft are unified which is what we are trying to do in class or wxpaling in PACS right? On antoehr tanget I was watching the crows or the mobs of black coming into the city and i was watching their behivior on how while moving in flockes they seem to swarm to one directon. At one point they all seemed like they were flying backwards. I also was comtemplating the idea of PACS in realtion to crows. Do crows have philosiphies? They are said to be smart birds so are they abobt to persue wisdom? Art and crows to some people are ideas of that they are beautiful birds also they way they fly can be an art. Thre also seem to be an art and craft in the way that they fly. Also they seem to have a science in flying by the way that they base it to climate.

the other day watching the nes I saw something that bird droppings can be used for eletricity instead of plaster on our paint on our cars. Are we expanding techological advances to bird droppings? I think it is a really cool idea in the means of PACS. The scientific suse of bird droppings to create power. Alse the art and craft in figuring out how to explain it yet unless someone else wants to take a stab i am all ears? It would be nice to see if we could beaby use or create something for gas other than ethonal or what ever they have already created.
